Tunisia: Elloumi’s Group invests several million euros in new plant in Morocco

The Elloumi’s family group, one of the main industrialists of Tunisia, continues the extension of its industrial activity in Morocco where it is already active.

According to information from Jeune Afrique Business +, the Elloumi Group will soon launch a new site in Kenitra, Morocco, for the assembly of electric cable harnesses for the automotive industry.

The inauguration of the new plant, which covers 6,000 m2 covered on a plot of 2.5 hectares located north of Rabat on Atlantic Free Zone, Kenitra export free zone, is scheduled for November, for a start of production in December 2017. The plant will initially employ about 500 people.

The production of the plant, whose investment amounts to several million euros, will essentially be used to supply PSA’s European platform.

Part of the beams will also go to Chinese industrialists specializing in air conditioning who settle in Kenitra, a source in Elloumi’s group was quoted as saying by Jeune Afrique Business +.

The Group, led by Hichem Elloumi, first vice-president of the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts (UTICA), already has two subsidiaries in Morocco: COFAT, based in Kenitra, already active in the beam manufacturing, as well as COFICAB

Morocco, located in the Tangier Free Zone and active in the manufacture of copper cables for the automotive industry
