Tunisia is negotiating a loan of over $ 1 billion from the World Bank and the African Development Tunisian Minister of Investment and International Cooperation, Riadh Bettaïeb said Friday.
The Minister said that both institutions would lend $ 500 million each.
These funds will be used to finance the state budget as the budget deficit reached 4.8% of GDP in the first half of 2012 and the government’s forecasts (6.6% of GDP over the year) could be largely exceeded.
