Tunisia: SFBT’s revenues fall by 4% in Q1 to 147 million dinars

The Tunisian Beverage Manufacturing Company (SFBT) has published its activity indicators for the first quarter of 2023. It shows a total turnover of 147.2 million dinars, compared to 153.7 million dinars a year earlier, a drop of 4%.

This decline is mainly due to the 16% drop in revenue from beer sales from 108.2 million dinars at the end of March 2022 to 90.8 million dinars at the end of last March.

However, local soft drink sales rose by 40% to 37.4 million dinars, compared to 26.5 million dinars a year earlier.

In terms of volume, SFBT sold 29.8 million liters of beer during the first quarter of the current year, compared to 37.7 million liters during the same period in 2022, recording a decline of 21%.

In addition, the investments of the SFBT reached 2.4 million dinars, against 19.2 million in 2022, down 87%.

The investments for the period are mainly composed of new extensions in the company’s factories, the purchase of beer equipment, soft drinks and returnable packaging (crates and bottles).
