Tunisia: STB Bank joins the inter-Arab payment platform BUNA

STB Bank, a pioneering public financial institution in the banking sector in Tunisia, has just joined the BUNA payment platform, launched in February 2020 by the Arab Regional Payments Clearing and Settlement Organization (ARPCSO), a subsidiary of the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF).

This inter-Arab payment platform further strengthens STB BANK’s already highly developed international payment system, with a view to ensuring greater speed and transparency in inter-Arab payment flows.

By joining the Buna network, STB BANK opens up opportunities for Tunisian economic operators to cooperate more dynamically with their partners at the regional and international level, thus facilitating the process of cross-border transactions and developing trade and financial exchanges in the Arab region.

Following this integration Mr. Mehdi MANAA, Director General of the ARPCSO said: “We are very pleased to welcome the Tunisian Society of Bank (STB BANK) in the network of participating banks in BUNA. The participation of STB BANK in BUNA will allow a better and stronger integration between Tunisia and the rest of the Arab world and will contribute to strengthen the links with the various international partners, through efficient payment solutions that respect the strictest compliance rules. On this occasion, I would also like to thank the Central Bank of Tunisia for its continuous support to BUNA.”
