According to figures provided by the Ministry of Social Affairs, the number of strikes fell by 43% during the first four months of this year compared with 2011.
According to the same source, the number of employees participating in strikes fell by around 47%. Similarly, the number of businesses hit by strikes was 130 against 180 firms in 2011.
Regarding the participation in strikes, the number of participants rose 76% in 2012 against 70% in 2011.
Regarding the working days lost due to sit-ins, a remarkable decline of 38% was recorded during the same period.
