Tunisia tenders for wheat, durum, barley for March-April

Tunisia’s state grain buyer announced a tender for 100,000 mt of milling wheat, 92,000 mt of durum wheat, and 100,000 mt of feed barley, market sources told Agricensus Thursday.

Office des Cereales (ODC) is looking to secure four 25,000 mt cargoes of 11% milling wheat for shipment March 15-April 25, depending on the origin.

For durum wheat, it wants three 25,000 mt cargoes and one 17,000 mt for March 15-April 25 shipment.

It is also looking for four 25,000-mt vessels of feed barley for March 15-April 25 shipment

The tender is expected to close on February 19.

At its previous tender on January 22, ODC bought 92,000 mt of milling wheat at an average price of $316.22/mt CFR, 92,000 mt of durum at $387.79/mt CFR, and 100,000 mt of barley at $286.64/mt CFR for February 15-March 25 shipment, said the same source.

Tunisia wheat imports are set to grow 34% in the 2020/21 marketing year to 2.2 million mt with barley imports more-than-doubling to 660,000 mt due to a smaller local crop, according to USDA forecast.
