Tunisia’s tourism receipts posted an increase of around 65%, at the end of the first quarter of this year, compared with the same period last year.
In fact, according to the Central Bank of Tunisia, tourism receipts at the end of March last year amounted to 1 billion dinars, compared with 610.5 million a year earlier.
Expressed in dollars, these receipts amounted to $320 million.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, Tunisia received 1.6 million tourists during the first three months of the year, almost double (+96%) the number of tourists who visited Tunisia during the same period last year.
