Tunisia: Tourism receipts and remittances generate TND 6.8 billion

Cumulative tourism receipts and workers’ remittances brought in TND 6.8 billion between January 1 and June 20, 2025, according to monetary and financial indicators published Wednesday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

Tourism revenues rose by 8.5%, from TND 2.7 billion on June 20, 2024, to TND 3 billion currently. Meanwhile, remittances increased by 8.4%, reaching TND 3.7 billion over the same period.

These combined inflows covered 89.5% of Tunisia’s external debt service, which exceeded TND 7.6 billion as of June 20, 2025.

As for net foreign exchange reserves, they declined slightly by 3.5%, standing at TND 23.3 billion (equivalent to 101 days of imports) on June 24, 2025, compared to TND 24.1 billion (111 days of imports) a year earlier.

The BCT also reported a 12.4% rise in banknotes and coins in circulation, now exceeding TND 24.7 billion.
