Tunisia’s tourism revenues continued their positive momentum in the current year. According to the latest figures published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), they reached 5.4438 billion dinars by the end of August 2025, compared with 5.0125 billion dinars recorded during the same period the previous year.
This development corresponds to an 8.6% year-on-year increase, confirming the sustained recovery of the tourism sector, considered one of the pillars of the national economy.
Expressed in euros, Tunisia’s tourism revenues amounted to €1.6 billion (based on the average monthly exchange rate over the first eight months of the year: €1 = 3.406 dinars).
The increase in revenues reflects improved arrivals, both from Maghreb visitors and European tourists. It is also explained by the continuation of efforts to promote Tunisia as a destination in major source markets.
There is no doubt that the tourism sector, which contributes significantly to foreign currency inflows, remains strategic for the balance of payments and employment.
