Tunisia: trade deficit widens by 23% to over 13 billion dinars at end October

The trade balance deficit has widened by 23% to 13.3 billion dinars at the end of October 2021, against a deficit of 10.7 billion during the same period of 2020.

The coverage rate lost 0.4 points to 74%.

But still, the trade deficit remains below its pre-crisis level of 16.5 billion dinars at the end of October 2019.

According to data released by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) Wednesday, exports saw an increase of 20.9% to 37.9 billion dinars during the ten months of the year 2021, compared to 31.3 billion at the end of October 2020.

Similarly, imports posted a rise of 21.6% to 51.2 billion dinars, compared to 42.1 billion a year earlier.
