Tunisia: trade deficit widens to 2,614.5 million dinars until end February

Exports posted an increase of +31.6% against a decline of 10.1% in the first two months of 2021, according to the latest figures from the National Institute of Statistics. They reached 8,999,2 million dinars (MD) against 6,839 MD during the same period of 2021.

Similarly, imports saw a growth of 33% against a decline of 12% during the first two months of 2021. In value imports have reached 11,613.7 MD against 8733.3 MD during the same period of 2021.

In view of this rise in exports (+31,6%) and imports (+33%), the trade balance stood at (-2614,5 MD) against (-1894,3 MD) during the two months of the year 2021. The coverage rate lost 0.8 points compared to the same period in 2021 to (77.5%).
