Tunisia: traffic resumes in Ras Jedir on Tunisian side

Traffic resumed, on Tuesday night, at the Tunisian-Libyan border crossing of Ras Jedir, on the Tunisian side, but remained blocked on the other side of the border.

It was agreed on December 31, 2012, to open traffic to Libyan freight trucks following guarantees given by the Tunisian authorities on the safety of Libyan vehicles inside the Tunisian territory.

The agreement was reached after a meeting attended by a Tunisian government delegation and local security officers to examine outstanding issues at the Tunisian-Libyan border.
