Tunisia: TUNISAIR announces revenues almost tripled in Q1

TUNISAIR has just published its activity indicators relating to the first quarter of the current year at the end of which the revenues of the national airline have increased by 178% to 216 million dinars, against 77.7 million during the same quarter of 2021.

The number of passengers carried at the end of last March showed a growth of 175% to 410,000 passengers against 149,000 passengers a year earlier. Therefore, the average revenue per passenger increased from 411 dinars to 428 dinars between the end of March 2021 and the end of March 2022.

As for the main variable costs, fuel expenses increased by 264% to 57.5 million dinars, against 15.8 million in the first quarter of 2021, while airport fees have more than doubled to 34.6 million dinars.

In addition, the wage bill increased by 6.5% to 43.8 million dinars, against 41.1 million at the end of March 2021. As for the workforce, it fell from 3,384 employees to 3,277 employees, a reduction of 107 agents.

The company’s outstanding bank stood at 900 million dinars at the end of March, against 944 million dinars at the end of December, while financial expenses have increased from 1 million dinars to 3.8 million between March 2021 and March 2022.
