Tunisia: Tunisair express resumes services to Sfax and Tripoli after 4-year break

Tunisair Express resumed Sunday its services from the Tunis-Carthage international airport of to the airports of Sfax-Thyna and Tripoli-Mitiga, at a rate of 3 flights per week (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday), after a 4-year break.

Director General of the company Tunisair Express Yosr Chouari told reporters the resumption of flights between Tunis-Sfax-Mitiga was made after the renovation of the company’s fleet which has allowed the revitalization of domestic flights.

She said that the reactivation of these flights will help increase the company’s revenue, adding that the sustainability of this carrier is dependent on compliance with the schedules of services, by all parties involved in the airports.

For its part, the commander of the airport of Sfax, Sonia Gmiha stressed that the resumption of services between Tunis-Sfax-Tripoli will contribute to the revitalization of the activities of the Sfax Airport of Sfax, Libyan companies and Tunisair Express company, noting that the Airport of Sfax is ready to accommodate 5 thousand passengers per year.

For his part, governor of Sfax Anis Oueslati expressed the hope to see the international line Sfax-Tripoli achieve the required profitability for the region of Sfax and operate on new international routes from this region.
