Poulina (Pgh), the Tunisian leading company in poultry industry, has partnered with French Ceva, specializing in the field of veterinary pharmacy, and established in Tunisia since 2006.
Through this partnership, Poulina hopes to strengthen infection control in its farms and reduce antibiotic use (30% less per year), especially as global health authorities recommend reducing consumption of antibiotics upstream and downstream of the food chain.
Thus, the Animal Health Laboratory of Poulina has integrated the expertise of Ceva.
“When you need treatment that means it’s already too late, there are already losses. Our job is instead to work upstream on prevention. This is the biggest challenge to improve animal health and reduce mortality in poultry, “says Didier Fedida, responsible for the Tunisian subsidiary of Ceva.
Mr. Fedida believes the growth potential of the Tunisian market, which already consumes 90% of anti-infectives and antiparasitics coming from the laboratory of Ceva in Ouardia, south of Tunis.
