Tunisia: Tunisair passenger traffic rises in April

Tunisair passenger traffic rose 2.2% in April compared to the same period in 2017, i.e. thirteen consecutive months of overall activity growth, the national carrier Thursday said in a press release.

Traffic, all activities included, edged up from 312,955 to 319, 821 passengers. Scheduled traffic increased 2.7% to reach 302,216 passengers, while additional traffic climbed 27.2% with passenger numbers standing at 5,098.

The number of passengers in the charter business stood at 12,507, while the passenger load factor posted a one-point increase, reaching 77.4% in April.

With 71.7% of passenger traffic, European countries recorded a 2.4% increase. African countries saw their 15.7% share increase 12.1%.

However, Middle East countries (with a 12.1% share) recorded a 9.2% fall. North America (Montreal), with 1.1% of traffic, recorded a 95% rise.

The national carrier said it is working to reduce flight delays and improve services.
