Tunisia: Tunisair, Thomas Cook sign partnership agreement

National flag carrier Tunisair, Thursday, signed a partnership agreement with Belgian tour operator, Thomas Cook.

The agreement provides for building “privileged cooperation relations” between the two companies on regular flights and charters, as well as organizing several joint promotional activities to promote the destination of Tunisia in Europe.

Mr. Rabah Jerad, CEO of Tunisair, said it is the second cooperation agreement (2012-2015), signed with the TO, while hoping that Thomas Cook “will do its best to attract as many visitors from Belgium and Europe to Tunisia.”

To do so, he said, Thomas Cook will showcase a real image of post-Revolution Tunisia, away from rumors about the country’s instability.

“Demonstrations and protests exist in all democratic countries,” he said, suggesting that the Belgian officials tour the sights in Tunisia, to “ensure that tourists can enjoy exceptional stay conditions in Tunisia.”

Mr. Johan Ysenbrandt, CEO of Thomas Cook, said that “from a total of 70 destinations served by the TO, Tunisia, is placed fourth after Turkey, Greece and Spain.”
