Nearly 40% of the French expressed their wish to spend their holidays in Tunisia, said a poll released Thursday on the perception of the image of post-revolution Tunisia in France and its impact on tourism in Tunisia.
The poll conducted by the Tunisian group 3C Studies by telephone among a sample of 569 individuals, representative of the French population aged 18 and older, was conducted from June 28 to July 3, 2012.
The poll found 83% of French people have heard of the Tunisian revolution which 71% consider it positive.
Fifty seven percent of French respondents believe that the Tunisian revolution has had a positive impact on the southern Mediterranean while 35% think that the revolution has also had a positive impact on southern European countries.
With regard to democratic transition in Tunisia, 44% of French believe that Tunisia is now in a successful transition.
