The Union of Arab Banks (UAB) plans to open a regional office in Tunisia, to oversee its activities in North African countries. “Choosing Tunisia to house this office has been dictated by the country’s strategic location,” explained UAB Secretary-General Wissam Hassan Ftouh, as he met, on Tuesday in Tunis, Finance Minister Houcine Dimassi.
Mr. Ftouh reiterated UAB’s will to bolster its cooperation relations with Tunisia, especially in funding small and medium enterprises.
Mr. Dimassi, for his part, spoke of the importance of modernizing the Arab banking sector and instilling in its operations greater efficiency.
