The signing ceremony of the document of the new project “Strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in southern Tunisia” by UNDP and project national partners – namely, the Office for South Development (ODS), the National Agency for Employment and Independent Work (ANETI), and the Tunisian Solidarity Bank (BTS) was held on Monday at UNDP headquarters in Tunis.
The project will build on the achievements of the generated knowledge and partnerships established by UNDP in the area. It will aim to strengthen the environment of business creation and development in the governorate of Medenine, Tataouine, Kebili and Tozeur, through technical support to support structures and funding.
It also aims to stimulate the entrepreneurial spirit among young people and the establishment of coordination mechanisms between the different regional actors in the promotion of employment and private investment.
The project also seeks to support young entrepreneurs through a support and funding program to create and / or expand their businesses.
UNDP will work with regional and local authorities and in coordination with international and bilateral agencies working in the region.
This new project will receive funding from the Government of Japan whose contribution is $ 1,938,400 USD.
