The number of unemployed is estimated at 613,600 in the third quarter of 2022, compared to 626,100 in the second quarter of the same year, announced the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
Despite this decrease, the unemployment rate remains stable at 15.3%, mainly due to the decrease in the number of working people.
By gender, the unemployment rate was up slightly for men (13.2% vs. 13.1% in Q2) and
down slightly for women (20.4% vs. 20.5% in Q2).
In the third quarter of the year, 37.8% of employed persons & aged 15 to 24 were unemployed, compared to 37.2% in Q2 of this year. The unemployment rate among young men was 38.5% and 36.2% among young women.
The unemployment rate among university graduates grew to 24.3% in the third quarter, up from 22.8% in the second quarter. This rate is 15.2% for men and 32% for women.
