Trade between Tunisia and Niger reached 23.6 million dinars in 2025, with untapped export potential estimated at $6.7 million (around 19.5 million dinars), particularly in the agri-food, mechanical, various industries and services sectors, which are the main export sectors to Niger, according to data published Thursday by CEPEX.
In a statement issued following the Tunisian-Nigerien Business Forum held on April 1, 2026, in Tunis, CEPEX highlighted the shared willingness of both countries to elevate economic relations to match existing potential, strengthen partnerships between their economic operators, promote industrial and investment partnerships and capitalize on opportunities offered by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.
The forum served as an institutional platform that facilitated bilateral business-to-business (B2B) meetings between Tunisian companies and their Nigerien counterparts.
More than 600 direct meetings were held, bringing together nearly 150 economic stakeholders, including over 125 Tunisian companies operating in high export-potential sectors, as well as a Nigerien delegation representing 20 companies and led by the President of the Niger Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Field visits are continuing on Thursday, April 2, 2026, to a number of Tunisian exporting companies.
