Tunisia: UTICA joins calls for national salvation government

While stressing that the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) must continue its mission with a delay not exceeding October 23, 2013, the Executive Board of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) called for the formation of a mini technocratic government able to meet the requirements of the current phase.

The Board emphasized the need to appoint a committee of experts to review the latest draft of the Constitution and revise it before submission to the ANC for adoption in the shortest possible time.

The Board of the UTICA also strongly denounced the heinous terrorist operation that targeted a patrol of the national army on Monday evening in Mount Chaâmbi, and expressed condolences to the families of martyrs, the military institution and the Tunisian people.

The employers’ organization called for closing ranks of the national army and security forces, in order to face terrorists and provide these two institutions with necessary means to protect the country and hunt down terrorists who threaten the unity of the Tunisian people and the security and stability of Tunisia.

UTICA again called for the revision of certain appointments to administrative positions on the basis of competence and professionalism, as well as the establishment of a precise calendar for the upcoming electoral events.
