Tunisia: creation of closed military zones in border areas

The Higher Security Council, which met under the chairmanship of President Moncef Marzouki, has decided to set up closed military zones in border areas to curb the phenomenon of smuggling of goods and banned products on the Tunisian soil and lend support to the efforts of the customs.

The meeting, which focused on the security situation in the country, has emphasized the need to identify individuals involved in the cases of the murder of the leader of the Popular Front Chokri Belaïd and Coordinator of the Popular Movement Mohamed Brahmi and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the two murders.
