Tunisia: UTICA, VBW sign co-operation agreement

The Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts Union (UTICA) and the Bavarian Industry Association (VBW), Friday, signed a co-operation agreement to boost partnership relations between private sector’s firms in the two countries.

The agreement provides for training Tunisian instructors within Tunisian companies and German firms settled in the country, to help them train the national skills and ease the latter’s integration in the labor market.

This program is funded by the German Federal Government.

The accord was signed by Mrs. Wided Bouchamaoui, UTICA’s President and Mr. Bertram Brossardt, VBW Executive Vice-President and CEO.

Mr. Brossardt said the program is part of the plan set up by the German government for Tunisia with a view to assisting the country’s economy and improving its competitiveness and growth rate.

He reasserted VBW’s pledge to contribute to the development of joint investment in the two countries.

An information day on this cooperation program will be held late in May to encourage Tunisian companies to join this program.
