Tunisia welcomed 8.3 million tourists in 2018 (René Trabelsi)

Tunisian tourism recorded good figures in 2018. Nearly 8.3 million foreign visitors stayed in Tunisia this year. Best performance for ten years, announced Thursday, January 3, 2019, Minister of Tourism, René Trabelsi announced on Express Fm radio.

Good news for professionals after several difficult years, but especially for the Tunisian economy at large.

Arrivals per country are topped by Algerian tourists whose number has exceeded 2.7 million visitors, representing 32% of the total number of foreign tourists who visited Tunisia in 2018.

Their number even exceeded that recorded in 2010 (1.3 million tourists).

Tunisia benefited in 2018 from the renewed enthusiasm of Russian tourists whose number exceeded 600 thousand visitors while 800 thousand French stayed in Tunisia.
