President of the Tunisia African Business Council, Anis Jaziri, has revealed details of the business and trade mission currently being conducted by Tunisia in Madagascar.
Speaking on the program Mag Express, he explained that this is the first mission of its kind to Madagascar, emphasizing that despite its geographic distance, the island nation represents a promising market with significant potential still largely untapped by Tunisian economic actors.
Jaziri highlighted that the main investment opportunities identified during this mission are in infrastructure, energy, and water, as well as in the industrial sector, particularly agro-food and manufacturing industries.
He added that the demand for Tunisian expertise in healthcare, higher education, and vocational training is growing.
He noted that trade exchanges between Tunisia and Madagascar remain limited, not exceeding $15 million per year, a very low figure given the potential.
He stressed that Tunisian products benefit from preferential advantages, including duty exemptions under the COMESA agreement, which strengthens export opportunities to this market.
