Tunisia among top 50 most innovative countries in the world

US magazine “Bloomberg Business” has just Innovation Index of the 50 most innovative countries in the world. Tunisia appears in the 46th position on 80 with a score of 51.18 out of 100.

It is with Morocco, the only countries from the North Africa and Middle East (MENA) region to feature in this ranking that measures the impact of innovation in the economy based on seven criteria: research and development density, manufacturing value-added, productivity, high technology density, tertiary efficiency, concentration of high-tech research companies and patent activity.

Tunisia was ranked 30th internationally in terms of tertiary efficiency. However, it is at the bottom in terms of patent activity; Morocco is at the 48th spot.
South Korea, Germany, Sweden, Japan and Switzerland rounded out the top five in the 2016 Bloomberg Innovation Index.
