Two African institutions will be headquartered in Tunisia

Two African institutions, namely the African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) and the African Institute of Statistics will, soon, settle in Tunisia.

Sahbi Khalfallah, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Tunisia to the AU told TAP it is the African Union (AU) that has decided to grant Tunisia the right to host headquarters of the two institutions within a year to two years and a half.

The ambassador recalled, in this context, it is Tunisia that had proposed since 2013, the creation of the African Intellectual Property Organization and the African Institute of Statistics.

They will be responsible for collecting information on intellectual property and statistics in Africa.
