Update 5: 20 passengers, crew on board Nigeria plane

Thirteen passengers and seven crew members were on board the Associated Airlines’ Embraer 120 plane that crashed shortly after take-off from the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday, according to the flight’s passenger manifest obtained by PANA.

In addition to the 20 people on board, the plane was carrying the remains of a former Governor of South-west Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Agagu, who died last month and was to be buried on Friday in the state.

At least six people survived the crash, while the coffin containing the body of the former Governor was retrieved intact.

According to the list, the passengers included Deji Falae, a Commissioner in South-west Ondo State and son of top Nigerian politician Olu Falae, as well as family members of the former Governor, including his son Feyi Agagu, who is believed to have survived the crash.

The authorities said at least six survivors are being treated in hospital, with 13 confirmed dead and one passenger unaccounted for.
