2013 growth forecast in Central Africa revised downwards

The governor of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC), Abaga Nchama, has announced that the growth rate in the sub-region would be 4.1% in 2013, instead of 5.2% as previously announced.

He made the announcement in a statement released Wednesday in Brazzaville.

However, Nchama said the 4.1 per cent growth is not a problem, ”because the growth in our sub-region remains strong, with regard to the average performance over the past ten years”.

He said inflation would also declined slightly, from 3% to 2.7%.
