Gambian bird Airlines, a subsidiary of the Germany-based airlines, Germania, has launched the Banjul-Bamako route, according to a communiqué issued by the company on Monday.
The communique said the route was launched 5 March with two weekly flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays from the Gambian capital, Banjul, through Accra, Ghana.
The communiqué said that the airlines offers business class and economic class flights to other destinations, including Dakar, Senegal, Monrovia, Liberia, Freetown, Sierra Leone, London, UK, and Barcelona, Spain.
Flights to Lagos, Nigeria, and Douala, Cameroon, are likely to be launched soon, it added.
