Tunisia to access EU advanced partner status November 19

Tunisia will access the status of advanced partner of the European Union (EU) next November 19, 2012, announced the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, responsible for European Affairs, Touhami Abdouli, in an interview with TAP.

This decision will be taken at the end of a dialogue session scheduled for that date with the European Commissioner for enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy, Stefan Fule, he indicated.

“The security situation affects neither foreign investment nor these negotiations,” he said, arguing that investors’ concerns relate more to questions of law rather than security issues.

“Many economic sectors, including the energy, record competition between European countries which wish to invest,” said the Secretary of State.
