Tunisia: reported investment up 27%

Investment reported to the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII) posted an increase of 27% in January 2016, to 211.5 million Tunisian dinars (MTD) from 166 MTD during the same period of 2015, according to the latest figures released to  African Manager.

 This rise is the result of the dynamism of certain sectors such as mechanical and electrical industries, which rose by 287% in intentions in the areas of foundries and telephone cables.

 Add to this, the chemical sector (+ 283%) with new reported project in the branch of pharmaceutical and construction materials industries and ceramics and glasses whose investment increased 25%.

 It is noteworthy that 43% of total investments reported in late January 2016 concerned regional development areas, up 44% compared to the results of January 2015.
