The number of passengers carried by the national airline ‘Tunisair’ (all activities combined) will increase by 6% in the period October 2024 to March 2025 compared with the period October 2023 to March 2024, reaching 1,185,890 passengers.
The load factor also rose sharply to 75.1% compared with 69.8% for the period October 2023 to March 2024, an improvement of 5.4 points, the airline said in a press release on Friday.
In terms of performance by geographical area, a “remarkable” growth of +14% was recorded by passengers from Europe, who numbered 825,243 passengers.
This growth was mainly driven by the French market, which accounted for 46% of total traffic.
Sub-Saharan Africa recorded an increase of 1% with 71,736 passengers. Canada recorded a moderate 1% increase in passenger numbers.
In terms of performance in the 4ᵉ quarter of 2024, passenger traffic recorded an increase of 16% compared to the same period in 2023, exceeding the annual growth of 6%. The load factor also increased by 5.5 points compared to the same period last year.
The same applies to passenger revenue, which went up by 12% compared with the 4th quarter of 2024.
The same trend continues for April 2025. The indicators are up. With 224,115 passengers carried, Tunisair recorded a 4% increase compared with April 2024.
The load factor reached 80%, an increase of 7 points compared with April 2024.
Passenger revenue increased by 2% compared to April 2024. Tunisair reported a 19% reduction in fuel costs for the 2025 quarter compared with the 2024 quarter.
In addition, its debt fell by 18% following the repayment of outstanding loans, while its cash position improved by 11%.
