Tunisia: Loans to economy up 2.8%

The outstanding loans, excluding commitments by signature, granted by banks and financial institutions to the economy reached 118.6 billion dinars at the end of 2024. This represents an increase of 2.8% compared to 2023 (115.4 billion dinars), according to the Central Bank of Tunisia’s annual report for 2024.

The slight recovery in outstanding loans to professionals is explained mainly by the accelerated growth in loans granted to public enterprises and administrations, rising from 8.3% in 2023 to 9.5% in 2024, while the growth rate of loans granted to private enterprises remained at 1.5%.
