Philippe Garcia, Director of the Business France Regional Office for North Africa, said during the Midi Eco program on Thursday, January 15, that the Portail Eco platform, launched a few weeks ago, was created to simplify access for Tunisian, French, and other economic stakeholders to the solutions offered by the services of the French Embassy in Tunis.
He added that the platform reflects a desire to work collectively so that each partner can provide the service for which it is mandated.
“tn.portaileco.fr is very intuitive. In just two minutes, an investor can present the basics of their project and be directed to the most suitable contact to support them,” he explained.
Philippe Garcia emphasized that since his arrival in Tunisia in September 2025, he has observed that economic relations between France and Tunisia are excellent and continuously improving, which in turn is widening France’s trade deficit with Tunisia.
“Today, we absorb 25% of Tunisian exports and strengthen our status as Tunisia’s strategic partner (…) After meeting with Tunisian companies and subsidiaries of French firms in Tunisia, I realized that there are too many investments that overlap without actually connecting. That’s why we are working to deepen these partnerships,” he added.
The Midi Eco guest also noted that among the sectors Business France is seeking to energize are the automotive and aeronautics industries, renewable energy, healthcare infrastructure, education and the environment, as well as sectors aligned with the SDGs of the 2020–2030 Agenda, following an in-depth partnership-based approach.
