The volume of grains collected nationwide has reached approximately 9.1 million quintals as of July 7, 2026, according to Tunisia’s Grain Office.
The total consists of 8.6 million quintals of consumption grains, accounting for 95% of the harvest collected and 493,000 quintals of raw certified seed grains, representing the remaining 5%, which were collected from seed production companies.
The Grain Office said the pace of grain collection has accelerated in recent days following the stabilization of weather conditions across the country.
Béja recorded the largest collection volume with 2 million quintals, representing 21.9% of the national total.
It was followed by Le Kef with 1.3 million quintals (13.8%), Bizerte with 1.23 million quintals (13.4%), Siliana with 1.21 million quintals (13.3%), and Jendouba with 966,000 quintals (10.6%).

The Grain Office added that regional technical committees are selecting barley from the 2026 harvest to build a strategic reserve of certified barley seed for future planting seasons.
It also said its inspection teams are carrying out regular visits to collection centers and grain grading laboratories to monitor working conditions, oversee the pace of grain transfers and ensure that farmers receive their payments on time.
As of July 7, 2026, approximately 3.4 million quintals of grain had been transferred either to Grain Office storage facilities or sold to flour mills.
