‘Angola is self-sufficient in butane gas production’

Angola is considered a self-sufficient country in the production of butane gas, with a total processing capacity of 600,000 tonnes per day, PANA reported here, quoting the Angolan News Agency (ANGOP).

Addressing a news conference here recently, Angola’s commercial director in the Oil Ministry, Albino Ferreira, said that two thirds of the total butane gas production was consumed in the country and the rest exported.

He was speaking at the end of a workshop on the regulation of gas activities in the country.

Despite these results, Ferreira said, the government was still exploring ways of improving stocks and enhancing the distribution network, with a view to achieving a non-stop supply of gas and other oil by-products such as diesel and gasoline.

The workshop featured participants from the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Cabinda, Moxico, Malanje, Kwanza Norte, Uíge, Lunda Sul, Lunda Norte and Zaire.
