Angola to start exploiting natural gas next year

Angola will start exploiting its natural gas reserves from the first quarter of 2012, Albino Ferreira, director of marketing at the Ministry of Petroleum, said Thursday in Luanda.

The official, quoted by the Angolan News Agency (ANGOP), spoke during the opening of a seminar with the theme: “Evaluation of oil and gas”.

The integration of liquefied natural gas in the lot of the country’s operating revenues requires industry stakeholders to develop knowledge on the market.

Angola has substantial gas reserves, estimated at 297 billion cubic metres and is only second to Nigeria in terms of reserves
