Bahrain bids better housing

Bahrain is determined to preserve village life as it builds more homes nationwide for its people, said Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa. during a visit to a local village.

The government is allocating more land and looking at alternative financing to build more houses, he said, and issued orders to hand over 38 new homes to families today.
Construction of a youth centre was also ordered.
He said the government was giving top priority to improving citizens’ living standards by promoting services, especially education, health and social services. The Premier asked authorities to provide easy access to Jid Al Haj and include it in the ‘village growth scheme’.

He issued directives to study the possibility of expanding housing projects in neighbouring areas, and cater to their infrastructure needs, including sewerage networks and road asphalting.

 “Decent housing is key to ensuring Bahraini families’ stability,” he said, stressing the need to give priority to areas suffering from acute housing shortage.
