Commercial banks operating in Côte d’Ivoire, which resumed activities on Tuesday, will open to customers on Thursday, according to a statement issued by the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions in Côte d’Ivoire (APBEFCI).
APBEFCI chairman, Jacob Amematekpo, said the banks would reopen across the country, except the districts of Yopougon and Abobo, suburbs in Abidjan.
Meanwhile, the government has announced that salaries for March and April have been paid.
The commercial banks provisionally suspended their activities in mid-February in the heat of a civil war between rivals former president Laurent Gbagbo and the new president Alassane Ouattara
