‘Black Box’ of crashed Nigerian plane found

The ‘Black Box’ of the Nigerian passenger jet that crashed on Sunday on the outskirts of the commercial city of Lagos, killing over 150 people, has been found, rescue officials said Monday.

They said the device, which records the flight data and cockpit voice, was found by officials of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and handed over to the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), which is spearheading the investigation into the crash.

President Goodluck Jonathan has directed a thorough investigation of the crash to determine the cause, as part of efforts to ensure flight safety in the country.
