Bombardier Aerospace to build plant in Morocco

Canadian aircraft manufacturing company, Bombardier Aerospace, has applied to the Moroccan authorities to build a plant in the free zone enclave in Casablanca.

The plant would be established at Nouaceur “MidParc”, near Mohammed 5 International airport, the “Aéronautique Maroc” official website reported.

Businesses located at “MidParc” have concessions of free tax for 5 years and 8.75 per cent for 20 years.

Construction work might begin as early as 2013 after Bombardier has received required authorizations such as building permits, the website reported, adding that the project is being monitored by a Canadian team which has made several trips to Casablanca.

The new Bombardier Aerospace plant in Morocco would be built in several stages with production expected to begin next year. By late 2020, 850 skilled workers should be hired to work in the Aerospace.
