The Cameroonian government has reassured the population on the availability of petroleum products during the forthcoming festive season.
Minister of Commerce Luc Magloire Mbarga gave the assurance during an appearance at the National Assembly.
Long vehicular queues, said to have been caused by supply shortage, have surfaced at filling stations in Yaounde, creating panic among motorists.
Also facing a similar shortage is cooking gas, which has been scarce for over two weeks
These shortages led the members of the Finance and Budget Committee of the National Assembly to question the Minister while he was defending his ministry’s budget for 2014.
He blamed the shortages on ”technical problems” and promised that all measures are being taken to restore normal fuel and gas supply, especially before the festive season.
