Carthage Cement improves turnover by 40% to 240 MD at end September

The company Carthage Cement has achieved a turnover of 239.2 million dinars at the end of the first nine months of the year, up 39% compared to the same period of 2020.

The sharp increase in turnover is driven by exports (clinker and cement) which reached 32.9 million dinars against 2.2 million dinars during the same period last year.

Local sales rose from 151.8 million dinars as of September 30, 2020 to 185.6 million dinars at the end of last September, an increase of 22%.

This increase resulted from the resumption of activity after a year 2020 impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and mainly by the technical and commercial performance provided by the company’s staff.

The production of clinker and cement grew 50% and 29% respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year to 1 million tons of clinker and 1.3 million tons of cement, which allowed the company to consolidate its position as a leader in the sector.

In addition, the cement maker’s debt amounted to 422.1 million dinars at the end of last September, down 3% compared to its outstanding at the end of December 2020.
