Congo: Congo to acquire three passenger aircraft from China

Congo has signed a deal with China’s AVIC International for the purchase and delivery of three ARJ21-type passenger aircraft in a bid to beef up its Air Congo fleet for domestic routes, Transport and Civil Aviation minister Rodolphe Adada said here Wednesday.

He said that delivery of the new aircraft, two in standard passenger version and one in VIP version, will be within a year since the initialling of the deal.

“After the trade deal, there will be a financial contract to be signed by the Congolese Minister of Finances and Budget, which will activate the concessional loan on existing arrangement between Congo and China,” said Adada.

Adada and AVIC International Vice President signed the trade deal Tuesday in Brazzaville.
