Libyan PM says outlaws are responsible for fuel shortage in Tripoli

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan told the press Friday night that the fuel shortage affecting Tripoli, the Libyan capital, for several days now was created by “outlaws who have attacked filling stations and destroyed equipment.

He said the attacks were carried out by a group which opposes the 17 February Revolution and working to create confusion and stop the process of development.

Zeidan said the army and police have been instructed to mount adequate security at the service stations.

Several filling stations in Tripoli have been experiencing long queues of drivers, despite assurances from the Oil and Gas Ministry that there is sufficient fuel for the population.
