Congo: Morocco to help Congo in public works

Morocco is to offer technical assistance and expertise in the field of public works in Congo, Congolese Equipment and Public Works Minister, Emile Ouosso, announced on Thursday after a visit to Morocco.

Moroccan technicians are due to arrive next month in Brazzaville to outline the action plan as well as the terms of reference for several projects that would be launched by the two parties, Minister Ouosso said.

Under the agenda of cooperation between the two countries, the National Highway Authority of Morocco will help the Congolese Road Fund to modernise and computerise its road toll system.

The Moroccan experience will thus benefit Congo in the development of a system for heavy duty vehicles, the setting up of institutions, operation of road financing system and special road funds.

The Congolese Public Works Ministry has asked for technical assistance from Morocco in the construction of several roads.

The Congolese Minister’s visit to Morocco follows the signing of conventions between Congo and Morocco during the “Build Africa” forum held in February 2014 in Brazzaville.
