EBID to finance solute-producing plant in Togo

The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) on Monday granted a loan of FCFA 2 billion to the Togolese company, Do Pharma, to enable it partially finance a solutes-producing plant.

Solute is a substance dissolved in another substance, usually the component of a solution present in the lesser amount.

The loan agreement was signed in Lomé by the Do Pharma Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dovi Akué, and the new President of EBID, Bashir Ifo Mom.

Under the agreement, Do Pharma will produce mass solutes which will be adapted for the  medical care of the population.

The local manufacture of solutes, commonly called “salted, glucose serum”, will help reduce the cost of purchase and the fight against fake drugs
